Trudy, a Senior Law Clerk at McCague Borlack, assisted with the opening of the firm in 1994 and, prior to that, has been working with the firm's founding members at a previous firm since 1987.
A portion of her practice includes areas of civil litigation such as commercial litigation, collections, wrongful dismissal, and lease disputes, however, Trudy's work concentrates in the area of insurance defence and personal injury. Her extensive trial experience includes taking down testimony and preparing summaries of evidence for each day, witness preparation and drafting of documentation including opening and closing statements. Trudy travels extensively throughout Ontario to prepare and attend trials and mediations for a number of clients.
Graduating with honours from the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO),Trudy has her associate level certification in all four practice areas with a primary focus on litigation. This certification has made her a knowledgeable mentor for upcoming Law Clerks enrolled in George Brown College's Legal Office Procedures course which Trudy teaches. She is also a past editor of The Law Clerks Review which is a newsletter which publishes current news & events in regards to ILCO, OBA, & LSUC.
Trudy enjoys travelling, mostly to warm & sunny climes, and swimming. She opens her doors to host international students from all over the world and is one cat away from being a crazy cat lady.
