Prior to joining the firm as an associate in 2011, Dina articled at a large international firm where she gained broad experience in providing client services in several legal areas, including work in intellectual property (trade-mark registrations, trade-mark litigation, copyright), commercial litigation (insolvency, environmental disputes, third party liability), labour and employment (union certifications, wrongful dismissals, pensions and benefits), advertising and marketing (misleading advertising, consumer protection) and corporate and commercial transactions (financial restructuring, competition). After completing her articles, Dina worked in privacy and intellectual property law at a private organization. She then provided advice in privacy, access to information and health law while working with a prominent government agency. Dina’s interest in developing client relationships led her to pursue a career in private practice.
Dina has obtained her Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) designation and is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. This has proven to be an immense asset in her legal career as it increases her comprehensive knowledge of legal issues around maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information, access rights to personal and governmental information, corporate security policies, privacy impact assessments, breach response mechanisms and jurisdictional legal compliance during cross-border data transfers.
Dina shows her commitment to mentorship and volunteer work as an executive member of the Harvard Club of Toronto, for which she plans networking, professional development and community outreach events, and mentors high school students applying to university. Dina also serves on the governance committee of a board dedicated to revitalizing Toronto’s Regent Park area.
Prior to pursuing her post-secondary education, Dina was raised in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She enjoys writing, painting, literature, theater and traveling.
