A Focus on Torts and Accident Benefits
Shene practices in civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defence. First joining McCague Borlack’s Kitchener-Waterloo office as an Articling Student, Shene has gained practical experience working on files in several areas of law. Shene has appeared and attended in the Superior Court of Justice on a variety of matters and has had numerous opportunities to attend and participate in mediations, and examinations for discoveries.
After her second year of law school, Shene pursued her interests in litigation and spent her summer working at an employment law firm in Toronto. While in law school, Shene was a member of University of Ottawa’s Association of Women and the Law. She also volunteered with the Elizabeth Frye Society through Pro Bono Students Canada, which culminated in her authoring an informational guide for women held in immigration detentions.
A strong supporter of local business development and art, Shene enjoys exploring her hometown for new restaurants, visiting the Museum, listening to live music in uptown Waterloo, and shopping at the Kitchener market.
