A Focus on Civil Litigation
Profile:
Chris Macaulay is a pragmatic litigator who turns complex legal issues into simple legal strategy.
Chris has successfully handled a variety of general negligence claims, coverage disputes, subrogated actions, breach of contract suits, and first party claims under multiple lines of insurance. While he chiefly acts as defence counsel for insurers, he also handles commercial and regulatory litigation directly on behalf of SMEs.
Whether on his feet in court or drafting written submissions in the office, Chris prides himself on taking a concise approach to advocacy. He has appeared at every level of court in Ontario and litigated before a variety of tribunals and alternative dispute resolution forums as well.
Chris started his legal career at a civil litigation firm in Toronto, but jumped at the opportunity to return to his hometown by joining McCague Borlack LLP's Ottawa office in 2018. In his spare time, he is an avid reader and passionate about basketball.
