Renata has practiced insurance litigation, focusing on general liability, property and casualty claims, since graduating from law school 20 years ago. She spent the first seven years of her career as in-house counsel for a large insurance company defending its insureds in countless injury claims and went on to work for a boutique insurance defense firm. Then for the next thirteen years, Renata was the principal and managing partner of her own personal injury firm, where she represented thousands of injury clients as well as handled malpractice claims and various other insurance-related matters. Renata has acted as counsel before the Ontario Superior Court, the Ontario Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and various administrative tribunals.

Having practiced for many years on both sides of the insurance litigation field, Renata has a wealth of file management strategies that focus on understanding the nature of each claim and working collaboratively with opposing counsel to achieve the most cost-effective and timely resolution. The goal is always to negotiate effectively to create early resolution opportunities outside of the courtroom doors.

In her free time, Renata volunteers at local charities especially those aimed at helping newcomers to Canada and she loves to support small local businesses. As well, Renata enjoys mentoring articling students with the hope and intention of adding them to her team.

Outside of her legal career, Renata enjoys working out, reading history, attending the theatre, studying foreign languages, and baking. She also loves to travel and has toured extensively throughout Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
