Joseph is a JD candidate at Osgoode Hall Law School where he is also a mentor in the Mature Student Association's peer mentoring initiative.
Prior to law school, Joseph began his undergraduate journey by earning a Bachelor of Science at the University of Ottawa. He switched gears to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN - compressed stream) at Trent University. After graduation, Joseph worked as a registered nurse (RN) since 2017, primarily within Ontario’s forensic mental health system. Joseph spent the bulk of his nursing career as a “charge nurse” and assumed the role of Interim Manager of two inpatient units. Joseph supplemented his nursing experience with training in psychotherapy techniques (CBT and DBT) and risk management (HCR20-V3). Joseph’s nursing career fueled his passion for advocacy, leadership, and client-centred care.
Alongside his legal studies, Joseph continues to practice as a registered nurse and works with Canadian veterans. This experience provides great insight into the practice areas he wishes to pursue, including accident benefits, professional liability, product liability, and technology-related torts.
In his downtime, Joseph enjoys spending time with his young family.
I am working on a file that involves admiralty law, a practice area I had hoped to encounter this summer. What interests me about admiralty law is its reach and impact span every corner of the globe.
