Katie completed her JD in the French Common Law Program at the University of Ottawa. Also at this university, before law school, Katie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History cum laude.
Her passion for litigation and advocacy originated from the university’s debate club where Katie competed in parliamentary-style debate competitions across the province. Once in law school, she honed her advocacy skills in Mediation seminars and Moot competitions, where she placed second for the Prix Pierre-Foucher in the 2024 Michel-Bastarache moot court for linguistic rights in Canada.
During her undergrad, Katie was a guide at several Canadian historical landmarks including Vimy Ridge and Rideau Hall.
In her free time, Katie enjoys camping, reading fantasy novels, swimming, cooking and experiencing new cuisines.
Artificial intelligence, or “AI,” is already incorporated into several aspects of the legal field, including tasks such as translation, grammar checking, speech recognition, and legal research.
