Lauren is currently pursuing her J.D. at the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law Program. Prior to attending law school, Lauren obtained a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) from the University of Ottawa in International Development and Globalization, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List.
Lauren’s interest in litigation was developed during her undergraduate studies where she was driven towards a career in advocacy. This interest was heightened in law school while participating in multiple moots, as well as while working in healthcare administration. At that time, Lauren held numerous positions in the union, representing her colleagues in various employment and labour law disputes.
While in law school, Lauren participated in an exchange program with the University of Puerto Rico. This exchange gave her valuable insight into the American judicial system, and, at the same time, she enjoyed learning about the unique Puerto Rican culture. Lauren continues to volunteer as a peer mentor to incoming 1Ls at the University of Ottawa.
Lauren’s interests include travelling, reading, and spending time with friends and her cat Nemo.
When I originally looked at firms participating in the Ottawa recruitment, the first quality that stood out about MB was their commitment to students for hands-on participation in all areas of civil litigation.
