Draeden recently completed his JD at Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During his studies, he was actively involved as President of the Queen’s Real Estate Law Association and served as the captain of the Queen’s Law Hockey Team. Draeden also had the opportunity to contribute to legal scholarship while acting as an Associate Articles Editor for the Queen’s Law Journal. His academic achievement was recognized with two Queen’s Law Prizes for achieving the highest grades in Introduction to Legal Skills and International Economic Law.
Prior to attending law school, Draeden obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy from Queen’s University, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List.
Draeden’s interest in litigation and advocacy developed through his participation in moot competitions, where he gained valuable experience drafting facta and presenting legal submissions in front of prominent lawyers, judges, and other professionals. He was able to further hone these skills while participating in a mock trade negotiation and commercial arbitration during the Queen’s International Business Law program in London, England.
Outside of work, Draeden enjoys playing hockey, golfing, and cooking.
