A civil litigator with a keen interest in insurance law, Douglas has experience handling a wide variety of cases in the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal. Clients appreciate his responsiveness, clear advice, and single-minded dedication to their interests.

Douglas joined McCague Borlack’s Ottawa team after practising for several years in Thunder Bay and articling as a judicial law clerk for the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto. In law school, he was an editor for the Queen’s Law Journal, a student caseworker with Queen’s Legal Aid, a research assistant for two professors, and the recipient of numerous academic awards.

Douglas is at his best in fashioning an incisive analysis of thorny legal issues into lucid and forceful courtroom advocacy.
