Yeru summered at McCague Borlack in 2025 and has returned as an articling student since completing her J.D. at Western Law. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University and graduated on the Dean’s List.

Her interest in advocacy began with high school mooting and continued through law school, where she was a finalist in Western Law’s negotiation competition and participated in several competitive moots.

Throughout law school, Yeru served as a Research Assistant in tort law, assisting with case law analysis, journal and manuscript editing, and the development of instructional materials for first year tort law studies. This experience strengthened her understanding of liability, causation and damages. It has also bolstered her analytical precision and writing skills, which are assets she brings to her work.

Yeru enjoyed volunteering with Pro Bono Students Canada, providing accessible legal information in immigration and labour law. This role and her years of experience in client service have sharpened her ability to communicate complex legal ideas clearly and empathetically. She also served as an upper year mentor for first year law students, and was Co-Chair of Western’s Tax Law Club, where she organized and led a student moot.

Yeru is fluent in Mandarin. Outside of law, she enjoys reading, weight training, creative writing, and gaming.
