Fatema’s civil litigation practice is dedicated to insurance defence, with expertise in both tort and accident benefits matters. She is a skilled advocate, recognized for her persuasive and innovative legal writing.
Fatema joined MB following her experience at a boutique insurance defence firm in Toronto. She also previously worked at a plaintiff-side personal injury firm, where she was involved in matters regarding product liability, class actions, and medical malpractice from the plaintiff's perspective. Her work on both the defence and plaintiff sides has given Fatema a well-rounded understanding of case management and the broader legal landscape.
Beyond her legal practice, Fatema serves on the Board of Directors for YWCA Toronto, a leading not-for-profit organization that supports women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals.
Fatema is passionate about creative problem-solving, both professionally and personally. In her free time, she enjoys tackling puzzles such as those found in The New York Times, reading (and trying to pre-emptively solve) murder mystery novels, and engaging in rock climbing and bouldering.
